Sean was a partner and principal at Media Entertainment Advisors, a boutique media investment bank in London, where he advised private investors and corporate clients in film, music, TV and other areas of intellectual property exploitation. His clients included major public broadcasters, film distributors, media banks and hedge funds as well as governmental agencies. He sat on the investment committee of the Creative Capital Fund, a London-based start-up venture capital fund, and on the board of advisors of a number of start-up digital media companies.

From 2000 – 2005 he was Managing Director of Ealing Studios and Fragile Films, the oldest film studio in the world and one of the UK’s largest film production companies. Sean oversaw the operation of all the businesses from facilities to production, focussing on strategy and business development.

Prior to this Sean was with McKinsey & Company, working in the Sydney and London offices where he advised major clients on a wide range of strategic issues, specialising on helping companies deal with growth challenges. He worked extensively as a specialist in the Media and Entertainment practice. Before McKinsey he was founder and CEO of the adventure travel and trekking operator, Nomads Expeditions, which he sold in 1995, having lived and worked in Mongolia for seven years. Sean was trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Cambridge University and the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, USA, and for four years was the Honorary Consul-General of Mongolia in Australia. Sean lives in Beijing with his wife and three daughters.
